We politely asked Sony to put an end to the circus and just announce the new PS3 Slim. Well, that didn't happen, which means that we must report on the latest news concerning the remodeled machine.
It's becoming clearer by the day. According to a recent report from the Jeux Video Network, the system in question is an inevitability, and one European retailer responded simply, "Yes, the PS3 Slim is a reality; it will soon emerge." The retailer also said the new console would launch with a retail price of 299 Euros, which supports the popular theory that not only will the PS3 Slim hit store shelves this year, it'll also be cheaper than the current model. That video is worth watching even if you can't understand French, if only for the introductory collection of evidence. For our part, we believe Sony will make everything official at GamesCom on August 18 (the day of their press conference), because at this point, the "unofficial confirmations" are starting to be daily occurrences.
